Sperm Mixing in Historical Donor Conception Practices

Sperm mixing in historical donor conception refers to the practice of mixing semen from an infertile husband with semen from an anonymous sperm donor, which was then used for artificial insemination.

Sperm mixing was a deception by the fertility industry aimed to not emasculate the husband in the situation.

Fertility clinics were in the business of making families. They didn’t want the raising Dad to reject the baby so it was better for them to use these smoke and mirror tactics and allow recipient parents to delude themselves that their donor conceived child was possibly genetically related to both raising parents.
