Prior to learning one is Donor Conceived (DC), individuals may resonate with the following statements:
- You’ve felt different from your family for most of your life
- You only look like one of your parents or you don’t look like either of your parents
- You don’t look like any of the siblings you were raised with
- You have previously had suspicions that you may be adopted
- You have a medical condition that nobody else in your family has
- Your child has a medical condition that nobody else in your family has
- You have little or nothing in common with the siblings you grew up with
- Your parents were married for 5, 6, 7, or more years before you or an older sibling were born.
- You were born in the 1950’s and your parents owned a mercury thermometer (as this was essential for plotting the time for conception at the clinic).
A commercial DNA test is the first step to confirming whether you are Donor Conceived or not.
